>Mahabharata (English) by Kisari Mohan Ganguli
Of huge body and great strength, of complexion like the colour of a mass of clouds, of teeth long and sharp-pointed and face emitting a sort of lustre, he was ever pleased with human flesh. And scenting the odour of man, he addressed his sister, saying,
'O sister, it is after a long time that such agreeable food has approached me!
My mouth waters at the anticipated relish of such food.
My eight teeth, so sharp-pointed and incapable of being resisted by any substance, I shall, today, after a long time, put into the most delicious flesh. Attacking the human throat and even opening the veins, I shall (today) drink a plentiful quantity of human blood, hot and fresh and frothy.
Go and ascertain who these are, lying asleep in these woods. The strong scent of man pleases my nostrils. Slaughtering all these men, bring them unto me. They sleep within my territory.
>Mahabharata by Bibek debroy
The evil eater of human flesh, with a huge form and great strength, smelt humans and told his sister, “After a long time, I will today devour my favourite food. Anticipating the pleasure, my tongue is moist with saliva. My eight sharp-pointed teeth are impatient because they have had nothing to bite. I will dip them into these bodies and the delicious flesh. I will attack the human throats and arteries. I will drink copious quantities of the warm, fresh and foaming blood. Go and find out who are sleeping in the forest. The strong smell of humans alone pleases me. Kill those men and bring them to me. They are asleep in our territory and you need not fear
Is kisari mohan ganguly's translation better or am I just an 76 iq individual who finds the simpler translation better (discussing prose not the accuracy)

they seems to think the arabs are real original muslims while pakis and indian muslims are just second copies and so not as 'real' muslims as the arabs are. It's getting out of hand, they even called european catholics converted.

Bhagavad Gita 4.7–8
>Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and a rise in unrighteousness, O Arjuna, at that time I manifest Myself. To protect the good, to destroy the wicked, and to establish dharma, I appear in age after age
Bhagavad Gita 7.7
>There is nothing higher than Me, O Arjuna. All that exists is strung on Me like pearls on a thread
Bhagavad Gita 11.32
> I am Time, the great destroyer of the worlds, and I have come to annihilate all beings
These verses make it clear that Krishna is the Supreme God — Svayam Bhagavan, not merely a charming cowherd but the very source of creation, sustenance, and destruction.
Yet over the centuries, especially in medieval and modern devotional traditions, Krishna’s playful and romantic aspects (madhurya) have often overshadowed his majestic and warrior aspects (aiswarya). ISKCON, for example, emphasizes Krishna’s sweetness, love, and flute-playing, while giving less attention to his role as a ruthless strategist and destroyer of adharma.
But the Krishna of the Mahabharata is both. He severed Shishupala’s head with his Sudarshana Chakra, guided the Pandavas in avenging the Kauravas, and was strategically involved in the downfall of Bhishma, Drona, and Karna.
Krishna, therefore, is not just a symbol of divine love, he is also the cosmic power who destroys evil. He embodies both the tenderness of devotion and the fierceness of justice.

"Ṇamōkāra mantra" is the most significant mantra in Jainism.
This is the first prayer recited by the Jains while meditating. The mantra is also variously referred to as the Pancha Namaskāra Mantra, Navakāra Mantra or Namaskāra Mantra. While reciting this mantra, the devotee bows with respect to the Panch Parameshti (the Supreme Five):
Arihant— Those who have destroyed the four inimical karmas
Siddha — The liberated souls
Acharyas — The spiritual leaders or Preceptors
Upadhayaya — Preceptor of less advanced ascetics
Sādhu — The monks or sages in the world practicing Samyak Charitra (right conduct)
There is no mention of any particular names of the gods or any specific person. The prayer is done towards the guṇa (the good qualities) of the gods, teachers and the saints. Jains do not ask for any favors or material benefits from the tirthankaras or monastics. This mantra simply serves as a gesture of deep respect towards beings whom they believe are spiritually evolved, as well as to remind the people of their ultimate goal i.e. moksha (liberation). Navkar Mantra consists of 35 letters.

Some Vedic families began initiating young boys at 8 years old, studying heroic poetry about past ancestors and practicing their hunting and fighting skills. At 16, they were initiated into a warrior band during the winter solstice ritual (the Ekāstakā), during which the boys went into an ecstatic state, then ritually died to be reborn as dogs of war. After their leader was determined by a dice game, the initiated youths were cast away in the wild for four years to live as dogs, stealing animals, women, goods and territory, until the summer solstice ended the raiding season. The young warriors then returned to their forest residence where they held a Vrātyastoma sacrifice to thank the gods for their success. At the end the four-year initiation,a final Vrātyastoma sacrifice was performed to transform the dog-warrior into a responsible adult man. Then, the newly-initiated males destroyed their old clothes to become human once again, ready to return to their family and to live by the rules of their host community.

>I will now describe some of the features of this age found in an ancient Hindu text, the Vişṇu Purāṇa, I will put in brackets what I consider to be the contemporary applications.
>Outcastes and barbarians will be masters of the banks of the Indus, Darvika, the Chandrabhaga and Kashmir. These will all be contemporary rulers [of this age] reigning over the earth: kings [rulers] of violent temper . . . They will seize upon the property of their subjects; they will be of limited power and will for the most part rapidly rise and fall; their lives will be short, their desires insatiable, and they will display but little piety. The people of various countries intermingling with them will follow their example. . . . The prevailing caste will be the Shudra. . . Vaisyas will abandon agriculture and commerce and gain a livelihood by servitude or the exercise of mechanical arts [proletarization and industrialization] . . . Kshyatrias instead of protecting will plunder their subjects: and under the pretext of levying customs will rob merchants of their property [crisis of capitalism and of private property; socialization, nationalization, and communism] . . . Wealth [inner] and piety [following one’s dharma] will decrease day by day until the whole world will be wholly depraved. Then property alone will confer rank [the quantity of dollars—economic classes]; wealth [material] will be the only source of devotion; passion will be the sole bond of union between the sexes; falsehood will be the only means of success in litigation. . . .Earth will be venerated but for its mineral treasures [unscrupulous exploitation of the soil, demise of the cult of the earth] . . .BrahmanicaI clothes will constitute a Brahman . . . weakness will be the cause of dependence [cowardice, death of fides and honor in the modern political forms] . . . simple ablution [devoid of the power of the true rite] will be purification [can there really be anything more in the alleged salvation procured by the Christian sacraments?] . . . In the Kali age men corrupted by unbelievers . . . will say: “Of what authority are the Vedas? what are gods or Brāhmans? . . . ” Observance of caste, order and institutes [traditional] will not prevail in the Kali age. Marriages in this age will not be comformable to the ritual, nor will the rules that connect the spiritual preceptor and his disciple be in force. . . . A regenerated man will be initiated in any way whatever [democracy applied to the spiritual plane] and such acts of penance as may be performed will be unattended by any results [this refers to a “humanistic” and conformist religion] . . . all orders of life will be common alike to all persons . . . . He who gives away much money will be the master of men and family descent will no longer be a title of supremacy [the end of traditional nobility, advent of bourgeoisie, plutocracy]. . . . Men will fix their desires upon riches, even though dishonestly acquired. . . . Men of all degrees will conceit themselves to be equal with Brahmans [the prevarication and presumption of the intellectuals and modern culture]. . . The people will be almost always in dread of dearth and apprehensive of scarcity; and will hence ever be watching the appearances of the sky [the meaning of the religious and superstitious residues typical of modern masses]. . . . The women will pay no attention to the commands of their hus- bands or parents. . . . They will be selfish, abject and slatternly; they will be scolds and liars; they will be indecent and immoral in their conduct and will ever attach themselves to dissolute men.... Men having deviated into heresy, iniquity will flourish, and the duration of life will therefore decrease.

why spirituality doesn't work for some people

Why Spirituality "Doesn't Work" for Many People
These days many people are T turning to spirituality, but after some time, they all complain that it is not working. Why is that?
One of the main reasons is that they don't recognise that spirituality is a lifestyle-it's a way of living. You can't just do some meditation or some newage practice for half an hour, morning and evening, live a hedonistic lifestyle, and expect spiritual growth.
Just like you can't go to the gym three days a week and expect good health and a fit body when you're not getting enough sleep or rest, your lifestyle is sedentary, and the diet involves a lot of junk food, so, too, with spirituality. If you are not living with some ethical values and psychological growth, how do you expect the spiritual practices to work?
The Foundation: Psychological Maturity Psychological growth is important. If I have lost someone near and dear and I have not managed that grief, I can't expect a spiritual practice to heal me from that grief. The spiritual practice will work only if I have done some basic psychological work.
Psychological maturity is the basis for spiritual growth. So if the foundation is weak, the edifice of spirituality cannot be built over time. Most people have grief, guilt, stress or some emotional issues, and they expect some practice to take care of it. Some temporary stress relief is possible.
But if 18 hours a day you are stressed out, how do you expect a half-hour practice to completely remove the effects of those 18 hours? One has to align with the right attitudes and a moderate lifestyle to handle stress on a regular basis. Only then will the spiritual practices work.
To sum it up: spiritual growth can happen only if I am a mature being. That is, if I can think clearly, feel deeply, and act decisively. This competency and growth can be enhanced with my spiritual disciplines and practices. But if the base is not there, no amount of practice will work.

Something interesting I read today
Hinduism and Abrahamism are the only few religious branches in the world where the original creator gods are respected and not overthrown by the newer gods. And only ones where the by the end times, the gods will return and bring back order online the Ragnarok like events where the current gods will die.
This might explain why they might be the only theistic religions that survived to modernity(inb4 muh shintoism, no most japs are just larping, they don't unironically believe in their like Hindus or Muslims or Christians and talking about real Christians like the ricebag (bch) next door you know who jump in to water and think they'll be healed of cancer and not the larpers on /pol/ who just want to larp Christian so their women will stop being whores), as the old isn't seen as inherently old, decaying and outdated. These believe in timeless eternal divinity instead of classical Roman or Norse Paganism or Shintoism.
I know many here hate Abrahamoids but what do you think about this thought?

should Hinduism change or should the law be changed? why does nature contradict Hinduism
and the principles of Hinduism teach, change to laws to be a bit closer to Hinduism if the nature itself contradicts Hinduism
Laws are human made, change them right now
Hinduism is by god, it's the way hindus should live
Nature is filled with calamities, it is indifferent, we should save ourselves and our Hindu Culture

>Dyaus (Sanskrit: द्यौष्, IAST: Dyáuṣ) or Dyauspitr (Sanskrit: द्यौष्पितृ, IAST: Dyáuṣpitṛ́) is the Rigvedic sky deity. His consort is Prthvi, the earth goddess, and together they are the archetypal parents in the Rigveda
>Dyauṣ stems from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dyā́wš, from the Proto-Indo-European (PIE) daylight-sky god *Dyēus, and is cognate with the Greek Διας - Zeus Patēr, Illyrian Dei-pátrous, or Latin Jupiter (from Old Latin Dies piter Djous patēr), stemming from the PIE Dyḗus ph2tḗr ("Daylight-sky Father")
>The noun dyaús (when used without the pitṛ́ 'father') refers to the daylight sky, and occurs frequently in the Rigveda, as an entity. The sky in Vedic writing was described as rising in three tiers, avamá, madhyamá, and uttamá or tṛtī́ya
>Dyáuṣ Pitṛ́ appears in hymns with Prithvi Mata 'Mother Earth' in the ancient Vedic scriptures of Hinduism
>In the Ṛg·veda, Dyáuṣ Pitṛ́ appears in verses 1.89.4, 1.90.7, 1.164.33, 1.191.6, 4.1.10. and 4.17.4. He is also referred to under different theonyms: Dyavaprithvi, for example, is a dvandva compound combining 'heaven' and 'earth' as Dyauṣ and Prithvi
>Dyauṣ's most defining trait is his paternal role. His daughter, Uṣas, personifies dawn. The gods, especially Sūrya, are stated to be the children of Dyauṣ and Prithvi. Dyauṣ's other sons include Agni, Parjanya, the Ādityas, the Maruts, and the Angirases. The Ashvins are called "divó nápāt", meaning offspring/progeny/grandsons of Dyauṣ. Dyauṣ is often visualized as a roaring animal, often a bull, who fertilizes the earth
