I shall summarise this story I experienced a few months ago.

>friend already stressed and mentally vulnerable

>goes alone to Manikarnika Ghat at midnight, sits for hours

>comes back to hostel, starts feeling watched, hears knocks/whispers

>paranoia ramps up, frames it as something supernatural

>Goes to the countryside and tells cousin in Bihar

>cousin has sudden fever + psychotic/dissociative episode

>shaking, accusations, tantra/“entity” narrative

The thing that scared him to shit the most was that she (It) was yelling at my friend:'s about how he didn't share the cigarette he was smoking near the ghat with "it" when it asked.

As for the politicians here, they benefit too, since its like culling the herd, you get an easygoing populace who has proved their loyalty by not leaving and living here. They prove their subservience. Its a very long game that is being played here with such a complex web of who's really behind it all that it is very difficult for the people to figure out what is actually going on.
