this is like a poor child stealing money to buy expensive clothes to impress some retard who doesn't care about the poor child
in case of Sarvam it's not even like ISRO which collects smart Indians or can be transferred to otehr tech
its just like 10 people burning through very expensive compute so some minister can brag about India being part of the "AI race"
They should have or should work towards creating an autonomous , native AI model that can and will be applied to daily lives of Indians , like automated law judgements/courts, automated physiciaissn etc. India has the data to train models for these things.
Indian data would stay in India and the impact would be huge (and no interference from outsiders)
