Trvth is most of us Jeets descend from poor peasants irrespective of caste, ethnicity etc.

My great grandfather lived in what villagers call kaccha house - basically a mud hut, he owned small plot of land attached to it, this was in a small hamlet.

He was farmer and a kathavachak.

My grandfather managed to get a government Job as an Education Inspector, built a pakka house on a bigger plot of land in a village.

My Father grew up along with his 6 siblings, there was no electricity or even proper road during his childhood.

Many people even today in my extended family are poor (EWS).

Nobody knows their ancestors to that extent yaar, stop larping.

Not all priests were Raj Purohits or something, most were simple village peasants who did pujari work on the side.

There are very few families in India who descend from some sort of nobility.

Most Rich or high status people we know built their wealth in last 1-2 generations

One of my uncle is a Retd IPS, he has interest in genealogy and history, he tried tracing my own family's history, couldn't go beyond 5 generations.

Idk about all the kangers and copers but I do descend from medieval and British raj nobility.

Even my maternal grandmother and her sisters all have at least graduate degrees, if not better. My great grandparents learnt both Persian and Sanskrit, even the women, even though the women never left the house. Some of my ancestors' relatives actually died by falling off horses during training or in hunting accidents.

I personally found it ridiculous that kids in my school actually had illiterate or uneducated grandparents.

Even my most recent "farmer" ancestors were landed nobility who donated 14 villages to Vinoba Bhave's Bhudan andolan.

I am also related to at least one minor "freedom fighter" king during the 1857 revolt. Though his later descedants/my ancestors probably cooperated with the British and then the congress.

I'm vegetarian because my mother and father are vegetarian. And also because I have tried eating meat later in life, and contemplated and decided against it myself.

Now, my father is vegetarian because he grew up in an ashram/ramdwara.

And my mother is vegetarian because her mother is also vegetarian. And my nani was vegetarian because her father willingly gave up meat himself because of religious reasons.

His father used to hunt animals though.

Back then, dummy schools were just starting to emerge, and CBSE used to occasionally check in on them, so I didn't take that risk.

The only dummy school in my city was ran by a suspicious Sindhi back then.

Fun fact, I met a girl at the bank a few weeks ago who had went to that dummy school. Now works as a private bank employee after failing JEE.

Well, I don't have a strong opinion on it.

I think that while fish are fundamentally different from us and most land vertebrate, they still do feel pain and endure suffering. Although they may not have the same level of mental faculties as a typical chicken or goat.

For better or worse, a lot of human societies still rely on various types of meats, especially fishes, and it's not viable to make a sudden shift. Then there's also the nutritional aspect of it, as you mentioned, omega 3 fatty acids et cetera.
