This. It is also the reason why number of male geniuses is double of female ones even though the average male iq is only 4 points higher. Another interesting phenomenon is SD. Wider IQ distribution curve(fatter tails of curve) results in both greater number of stupid people and geniuses. Whites have a wider curve(higher SD) which is why they have produced more geniuses than east asians despite east asians having higher average iq. East asians have very narrow curve with high average iq which is why they produce really good societies and have fewer stupid people but also fewer geniuses and its the geniuses who invent and innovate.
