I have a really old Dell Laptop atleast 7+ years old non-functional

>Looks like picrel very heavy compared to mordern Laptops

what parts can I salvage or scavenge and actually make use of (other than selling) if I buy a new computer/laptop in future

It is well preserved

>non-functional

repair it

don't go to meme repair shops, look up the model and find for guides on yt, ifixit or reddit

hell even AI can guide you

get a toolkit from amazon and get the thing up and running

its old so the battery might be removable, check if it works, if not then replace that

if its very old then "salvaging" the RAM might not be beneficial since they are of diff integration compared to modern ones

it can work as a serber too, also dont install linoox yet

older laptops are more repairable than modern ones because components are not soldered usually. find out the fault and repair it, then install a lightweight linux distro like bodhi/puppy/tinycore/antiX.

but you should know what you are doing

>motherboard got fried long time ago

>display has heavy damage screen is intact

>screws are chipped and risted

>screw holders broken kek

>heat sink intact(?) fan fucked

>didn't check RAM, processors and other stuff (likely intact)

>not sure about hard disk it was heavily infected iirc (nanhajeet activities)

it is hopeless to revive it I just want to scavenge only the stuff which can be used to increase performance of a new pc in future

like can I somehow take processors and RAMs from this old (2004's model old) PC

take it's RAM and plug it into my current (or future) laptop and watch it able to run 3D games and not fucking explode?

I'm not much good with computers but I can disassemble it and replace parts and stuff without damaging them

True but this one died long ago

I have preserved her somehow and don't want to throw her away (old habit)

It's e waste at this point. you can give it to the kabadi wala and hope to get some buxx that you use to purchase ram or some shit.

Nothing inside it will help you run a pc.
