''The sky turned a soft orange as the sun began to set behind the mountains. Technology has changed the way we live. My dog, Charlie, loves playing in the park. Studying history helps us understand how the world has evolved. On a rainy afternoon, there's nothing better than curling up with a good book and a cup of tea.''

For some reason, I don’t think anything like this has been uttered in an Indian language.

पहाड़क पाछू सूरज डूबे लगल त आकाश नारंगी चमकए लगल।

I was expecting maithili, this seems more like bhojpuri

How does a bihari not know bhojpuri anon?

Yeah...it is pretty crude Maithili, because i haven't lived in Mithila for more than 2-3 months at a time. I wrote it in the same style as how I would converse with my parents or cousins
Also, there is also the fact that Rajputs tend to speak worse Maithili compared to Maithil Brahmins. Their way of conversation is viewed as the standard and prestige dialect in Mithila

yeah, Maithili based on how my family speaks it. It's not a very good example however, because my parents haven't properly lived in Mithilanchal since the early 1990s and have largely forgotten many things

i don't know yaar, my older brother doesn't know it either. i grew up in JH. everyone at home always spoke hindi, except for when talking to relatives on the phone. and when I had to talk to the relatives, they just spoke hindi to me as well.

thing is i can actually imitate proper maithili but it feels weird when i speak it, like yeah. I would want to learn more in the language before I appropriate it, noamsayin

>Rajputs tend to speak worse Maithili compared to Maithil Brahmins.
Hm, that makes a lot of sense for sure. I guess a lot of you spoke a different language entirely, it would make you unique case. Maybe you should take a course and check what region of Rajasthan you guys came from, and learn that language two, perfecting Maithili at same time. You would be true east north rajput. Baari and daal with champaran mutton kek.

Damn yaara, hindi imposition was actually real all along. I hope these languages do not vanish entirely. It's always fun to move to a different state and speak in a language others can not understand.
