I am a 30 year old teacher at a college in love with a 20 year old girl who is my final year student. I texted her happy birthday on her birthday even though I felt embarassment since why would a teacher remember a student's birthday and wish her? But because I love her so much I decided to forget about my superior status as a professor and send her a text.
To my great embarassment she didn't reply at first. Even though she had her phone, and she posted a status 1 hour after my text (unrelated to bday).
Then, 2 hours after my initial text, she responded. Even though her response was very warm and pleasant, I think she saw my message and ignored it. And now she permanently views me as some kind of creepy weirdo 30 yo uncle who is chasing her.
Any of you zoomers wanna tell me I am wrong and it's just a coincidence she didn't see my message the first time?
