Tibetans are only viewed favourably because of their Indian spiritualization. They don't know anything about Buddhism. For example becoming a Buddha means you have achieved Moksha - that's the point of Buddhism - achieving moksha means you aren't reborn anymore.
Tibetans believe that the Dalai Lama is a reincarnation. That's totally out of line with actual Buddhism.
