I feel in India, we are psyop'd into believing that mere sustenance and a roof over your head is something that you should be gratefull to our parents for. I guess that makes sense, given our history and that not many have these things, but it's their responsibility, as a parent. A lot of us have undergone beatings, brutal insulting that tore deep wounds into our psyche which never healed, and so on and so forth from our parents. Even today, I reflexively shrink back when my mother raises her hand because of the unrelenting beating I underwent as a helpless child. I guess I do respect her for somethings, and I can sympathise with her to some extent; I wasn't an easy child. We do get along. But I can never truly forgive her or love her. Some wounds don't heal.
