Btech degree people shouldn't even be teaching high schoolers science it should be Bsc/BS degree holders in PCM
These guys went through coaching of jee then go back to teach in that coaching
IIT here serves only as a stamp to push their coaching career

Almost every major project there's involvement of IItian or from IISc.
Just cuz you don't know doesn't mean it's not happening.
It's just that no iitian is gonna waste time on working in no-ac HAL workshop filled for 40kpm salary compared to gorillion LPA for merely changing border-radius of some UI element in a FANG company.

I am talking about inventions or innovations. Coming up with something new not being a mere copycat and copying western startups or working for them as employees. We pay taxes to fund iit. We will expect at least some of them to contribute in modernizing and digitalizing india and ideally bringing recogniztion to pajeet race by inventing something new.

IIT tag matter a lot, similarly IAS tag matter a lot. The whole society o UCs start respecting a LC if their kid cracks any of the prestigeous gobarmint exams.

Our prominent UCAV project, SWIFT, had involvement from Aeronautics department of Kanpur IIT. In fact you can find images from their department of the parallel prototypes. They were also involved in Tejas, our BMD programs etc. I think kaveri metallurgy too.
IISc is grads are directly selected in likes of ISRO, DRDO directly.
Even as simple as study of soil samples and ideating plans related to Ram Mandir required help from IITs and IISc.
Chenab bridge, our tallest railway bridge had contribution from IITs.
Our rocket companies like Agnikul were incubated in IIT madras, GalaxyEye which literally manufactures EOS sats is from chennai madras.
Pretty much all isro related missions - sats, payloads, even propulsion systems have involvement of IIScs.
Recent quantum encryption, communication test was done by isro and iisc collaboration.
Pretty much everywhere which is strategic project will have their involvement. DRDO and ISRO directly hire these guys too.

Talent will go where money is, there's nothing wrong with e-commerce business. The early easy money into these will eventually go into other part of the industry as they diversify.

It is gonna take time but isnt it sad that we havent produced even a single noteworthy invention or discovery since cv raman and bose and havent heard of any innovative startup or new software from bangalore. Whatever they do they are always in among 4 countries or so to do so. If you actually google search you can find specific examples of research which are pioneering.

I mean yeah core focus of IISc is research. IIT does have fair share of R&D but not that close, you can't expect B.Tech guys to invent directly unless they go into research path.
They mostly go towards startups etc.
