check out iNaturalist. it's this app where you snap a photo of whatever bug, mushroom, flower, whatever, upload it, and actual people who know their shit (plus some AI) ID it for you.

it's free, run by nonprofits, full of nature geeks from everywhere, and your stuff actually goes into real science databases for tracking species and all that.

been using it a bit and it's kinda addictive - way better than arguing with anons about whether something's poison ivy or not. plus sometimes your random backyard find ends up being cool data.

give it a shot if you're out hiking or just poking around outside.
