Crimson League

The Crimson League's story begins in the backstreets of Durban in the late 1940s. What started as a band of Indian businessmen and working-class men trying to protect their own soon would soon become one of the city's most feared gangs. They had come together out of frustration, tired of being shaken down by the Pathan Mob, an Indian-based mafia that terrorized shopkeepers, extorted money, and looted stores without consequence.
Legend has it that one of them said, "Destroy the bastards. Let the streets run crimson with their blood." The name stuck-and so did the violence.
After a bloody showdown that wiped out the Pathan Mob, the Crimson League discovered what power felt like, and how profitable it could be. Instead of walking away, they organized, turning their vigilante crew into a structured crime syndicate. Before long, they ruled Durban's underworld.
Together with their rivals, the Salot Gang, they controlled the city's black market, gambling rings, and even local football clubs. The police only cared about enforcing apartheid, so people often turned to the gangs. In that climate, gangsters and athletes alike became legends.
Picrel is members of the Crimson League standing outside a courthouse during recess, where seven of them were on trial for the murder of a former gang member.
