I hope this is true, as BYD is available in India and I also hope this car will be available within next 2 years

What kind of energy densities does this tech get?

Eh....... Doesn't have to be BYD using these cells. Mahindra and Maruti EVs use BYD cells in their battery packs. They'll probably use these new cells. You can buy them. BYD faces a lot of government scrutiny over investments because they're Chinese, same reason why MG is in trouble.

Around 200, pretty cool, definitely an improvement, but I'm interested in practical Li O2 batteries with ED comparable to diesel fuel.

LFP chemistry used by BYD is roughly 170 wh/kg. So 30% more than that. Tesla is already at 250+ with NMC.

BYD overproduced, their cars tend to explode, and they have never been tested in Indian climate.
Lithium batteries are like small bombs, disposing them is pretty difficult.

Is there no Pajeet corp doing rnd or manufacturing on these?

Not true. There have been isolated cases of fires, but every carmaker has fires. LFP cells from BYD are best suited for indian condition, which is why maruti and Mahindra uses them in their cars. BYD sold 4.6 million cars last year. That is more than Honda, suzuki and Nissan. Let that sink in.

Funny how we are not able to import ByD to help dhando but dhando can import their tech to sell their cars

On the battery pack level-yes, but on the cell level -no. Basically there is no cell manufacturing at present in India. And I don't think India has too many people who understand how to make a Li-ion cell from scratch. You have to realise that BYD started as a battery manufacturer for Nokia and Samsung mobiles in the 1990s. India missed out on the Li-ion battery boom of the 1990s and 2000s.
