There is no cure, and we don't need it

Been thinking about phone addiction for a while. The general reaction from the current Zeitgeist is to "cure" it, there's a party-line of lies we all feed ourselves and then there's reality.

I think everyone has atleast 7+ Hours of screen time, maybe more, and either you save the number by rotting on a different screen, the main point regarding the phone is its ability to constantly please.

The biggest cause of suffering is not pain or a big romantic devil of passion, its boredom really, boredom causes everything to churn and reveal itself, boredom not only exposes you to our own elements, it's just plain hard.

We weren't built to be bored too long either, and we will most likely never get rid of this ability to constantly stimulate the mind.

There's a false conception that life was better before the phone (frankly this is a myth every era creates for itself) Humanity has always been self medicating boredom with substance, gossip, art, violence, sex or masturbation, wandering or pondering.

Theres never going to be a cure to it, and you might as well learn to live with it, spend the time in a better way, and not try to act according to the status-quo's moral facade of low screen times.

Real life is painful, boring and uneventful, read books, watch better things on youtube, play good games, listen to good music. That's all we can do.

It's a modern affliction, but there's no turning back, and I for one think that its not worth turning back.

The constant noise hurts us, but if you use it properly or atleast in a way that you're not incapacitated by it, it really is just a part of life, neutral.
