This is just nitpicking. The term was coined by Linneaus the father of taxonomy. Racial classification in taxonomy was well accepted in biology until UN declaration of human rights made it politically incorrect. Taxonomy is not based on rigid lines. It is just for human convenience and can be arbitrary. You can have spanish as russians within larger european race. Many animal groups such as bears(black,grizzly,polar), canids(wolves, dogs, coyotes), fishes that can interbreed to produce fertile offsprings are classified as separate species based on morphology. Europe is a distinct continent and civilization with natural borders europeans and are closer to each other than to non europeans genetically and culturally (like south asians). Spanish are closer to french and brits than north africans. Is there no overlap whatsoever with other continents? Ofc there is, but that doesnt change the fact that disctint races exist.
