Thing is Islam is religion as well as politics.
Islamic invasion has both policial and religious interests.
Again the Vedic Dharma dictates politics too, Rajputs followed kshatriya dharma.
Before Industrial revolution, Religion played an eminent role in all aspects of society unlike today.
