Hanuman looks a little too mighty in the form of an old monkey for it to be accurate to the epic. He is supposed to look weak and fragile with oddly human like proportions in this one. He outright tower Vrikodhar here.

Yaar i have a question regarding Hanuman in Mahabharata. Is the story of Hanuman ji safeguarding Arjun rath true? Some says that monkey flag was just an emblem and not related to Hanuman. What is true?

Thanks, one more query. It's regarding Ramcharitra manas. That before Tulsidas it was first written by Hanuman but was destroyed when he saw the sad face of Tulsidas when he saw that Hanuman ji's version was better written and was without any flaws in praise of Rama. Is there any mention of this story in scriptures?

>Is the story of Hanuman ji safeguarding Arjun rath true?

Yes

>Some says that monkey flag was just an emblem

It would be if literally some time ago during the vanaparva hanuman didn't claim that he would be protecting Arjuna. This is same time line as where Hanuman went out of his way to humble Vrikodar Bheema during saugadhika search. It all makes no sense that he won't make his time to protect Arjuna as well.

>and not related to Hanuman. What is true?

No that's retarded and poorly found. The space for debating that point doesn't exist because Hanuman literally appears some time ago to meet both Bheema and Arjuna on different occasions.

Even the narrator Sanjaya goes out of ways to specially claim "The simian on the flag of Arjuna, the soul that himself has many fear" no other monkey was that Iconic to hold his own feats.

This one is heavily debated among Kanyakubja and Saryuparin Brahmans. This comes from the katha vachan, or folk tales that you will hear in the regions in Kanpur, Banaras, and other cities.

The idea behind this narration is how this is such a well known story their was no purpose to have written it. But their is no scriptural backing up for this story as far as I can tell.

As a Brahman i feel like people not a little too lenient during Bhakti era. God not being strictly restrained let to people freely interpreting actually lore of deities that got a little far too exaggerated like this one.

Their is no doubt Hanuman could have likely done what you have heard, but their is no real scriptural evidence that he did.

u might be confusing valmiki and tulsidas

so bramha has written his own version of ramayan and it goes into intricate detail about each and every action by ram from his birth to death, this is the original version, then the secind one is by hanuman who wrote whatever he saw, on the rocks of the himalayas, soon after that valmiki finished his version, then hanuman erased his version of ramayan from the himalayas because he wanted valmiki to be the first writer of ramayan in mrityulok. this is what we consider original. tulsidas was a mughal era writer, and he wrote ramcharitmanas in braj bhasha, its not the original sanskrit version, but people follow it because not everyone knows sanskrit
