water won't remove the bacteria that produces armpit smell
you need to disinfect the area and then shower
many cheap ways to disinfect exist, one of the cheapest is mixing a 70% IPA solution (with distilled water)
some humans also can't metabolize certain ingerdients in garlic and onions, which then get secreted out via their sweat glands instead
in which case the only cure against your smell would be to stop eating those things
also I suggest shaving any hair in your armpits
