So exams already give nice mark deduction in eligibility and reservation on top of it , and can still compete with everyone on non reserved .

By simply being smarter and studying harder. All toppers are gen category. If you cannot you are intellectually sc and should get an sc caste certificate.

Idk man. Basically you have to practice question and mock tests, be a good student and get your doubts cleared by a teacher. Repeat this for 2 years.
Most students(including me) do not perform well because doing all the above seems stupid and pointless till it's too late.
Reservations have separate issues, but not an excuse of someone's failing. When you join your coaching/school whatever, you are given a simple contract, study properly and get into an IIT or NIT, if you don't then you will not. Reservations don't come into play with this. Specifically when I see people with like 1 lakh rank complain about reservations. Like brother if there were no reservations, atmost your standing would be same as someone with 70k rank today. Irrelevant and pointless.

It's not that hard yaar, just get into tier 2 like NIT or other gobermint college. Getting into IIT is a struggle that'll ruin your youth. Just aim for tier 2 while having fun in life.
