Kaiji is great because, the author knows how to write losers and he seems to be good at psychology. His another manga that's called legend of the strongest kurosawa is a masterpiece imo. I have only read 2 works including kaiji but in total he has 4 famous works which are critically acclaimed and that says a lot about the author's level.
