There is a certain aesthetic/vibe from the time period between the 80s to the early 2000s that is so captivating.
I dont mean the art style. I mean the music (especially j pop from that time), depiction of the early internet before it became mainstream, the overall atmosphere, it is kinda hard to explain. It is just so cozy and makes me nostalgic for an era I havent even lived in.
The only anime/media i have seen so far that embodies this is steins gate, persona and neon genesis evangelion, especially its theme(cruel angels thesis).
