It's an ancient aryan sacrifice ritual - true sacrifice means you are willing to lose without gaining anything. It's not a trade.
Abrahamics don't have a concept of sacrifice. They would donate this and then calculate the amount they can still donate (or make others donate) so they can increase their social standing without taking too much of a economic hit themselves.

you have no idea the amount of donation that already happens for a yadnya (not being condescending). it's quite literally unreal.
for example, if there is a yadnya of say 10 days, all 10 days free bhandara is to be offered to the entire village (or whoever wants it). because satisfying hunger of the surrounding is also another kind of yadnya. this is not counting rhe donation to pandits. clothes, food, money. i don't even know how much it costs. i think a true yadnya must cost in crores.
