Only purpose of these institutes is to help middle class indians get a quick ticket out of middle class and even that doesn't exist now. You need to get good branch in old iit, ie circular or top level core, get good cgpa, grind it there missing out on fests etc unless you are abnormally high iq and gifted, and then you may land a good job. And with rise of AI I see even that becoming exclusive for the elite amongst iit cels.
