I recently went on a trip to Patna, and on the way there i witnessed so much gut wrenching poverty that it was disturbing.
Like, there were just hordes of dehati bimarus scuttling around like insects with seemingly no aim in life. And there were so many of them. In some places, they infested every single corner, every alley, every where the eye can see. I saw one guy getting swarmed and harassed by them requesting to clean his car in exchange for money, and arguing with each other over scraps.
And their stares though... you can really feel that nothing really goes on within those skulls. They appear to be barely sentient creatures. They are closer to zombies or husks than human beings. I now understand why India is sometimes said to be worse than subsaharan africa.
If these "people" form the majority of our countrys population, then i truly have no hope for our future...
