Walter White is a classical narcissist. He does not care about anyone. The only thing he cares about is his ego, his (false) image, his name, his status, etc. You will be taken care of him as long as you extend to serve his ego in some way. That's pretty much it. Even in his death, he cares about him and how his name is remembered once he is dead.
