Thats what fascinates me really, its like a completely different world now, sure the geographical location is exactly the same but the landscape has been altered indefinite. Those people you see in these glimpses are not there anymore, they have become something entirely else. New structures and buildings rose and fell, some still stand and few were demolished, their purpose has changed, because peoples needs demanded so. Cultures have changed, demographics have changed. Its the only constant after all, its all liminal.
