Technically not true tho. Founder of madurai sultanate was a haryanvi muslim. It was short lived, i know but it did rule. Guptas expanded upto kanchipuram. Besides gangus, Marathas conquered thanjavur and mughals also conquered northern tamil nadu so i dont get where this idea that tamils never got conquered at all. It did get conquered partially many times tho the rule was shortlived.
